KUALA TERENGGANU: The RM225mil alternative road project to ease traffic congestion in the city is expected to be fully completed by Dec 2012.
Kuala Nerus Member of Parliament Datuk Mohd Nasir Ibrahim Fikri said the 5.6km road project that involved a bridge included land acquisition in two kampungs.
"We will identify land lots as replacement for those taken by the government and will also pay them compensation," he said at a project briefing here Sunday.
The alternative road via Kampung Bonggol Binjai will ease traffic congestion at Sultan Mahmud bridge and Manir bridge particularly during festive seasons.
Mohd Nasir said the government had put aside RM16mil as compensation for the land acquisition.
